Engraved blackpowder frame Colt SAA by noted Master Engraver David Wade Harris who has signed the butt: "DW HARRIS." The engraving consists of about 75% floral scroll coverage on a punch dot background along with zig zag line and dot motifs, with recoil shield and loading gate adorned with fan patterns. The barrel has the two-line Hartford address, the frame has the three-line patent dates marking, and "45 CAL" is stamped on the trigger guard. Harris is best known for his cattle brand engraving. He was taught the art of cattle brand engraving by Weldon Bledsoe, who had in turn learned the art from Cole Agee, the originator of the cattle brand engraving.

Very good overall as embellished and replated by Master Engraver David. W. Harris, retaining a bright appearance and slightly undersized grip. Mechanically needs work, only three clicks. Provenance: TLC Collection.
