This is a very good example of a late production Harrington & Richardson Reising Model 50 fully automatic SMG. This model of SMG saw some limited used in the later days of the WWII Pacific campaign by the United States Marines as a substitute for the M1 Thompson. They were more widely used as defensive weapons for war-essential industries and then later after WWII to numerous Law Enforcement agencies throughout the US. The receiver is roll stamped with the three-line Harrington-Richardson factory markings, with the fire control markings on the rear right side, followed by late production serial number of "111987". The short 10 1/2 inch barrel is fitted with a combination flash hider/muzzle break with 14 cooling fins on the barrel. It has a blade front and a stamped, sheet metal four position adjustable rear sight. The breech end of the barrel is stamped with "PH" indicating the barrel was proofed fired and checked during assembly. It is fitted with a one-piece, walnut buttstock with a stamped sheet metal buttplate with sling swivels mounted on the underside of the stock. It has a unique cocking mechanism, which is actually a large hole on the underside of the forend where the cocking lever is located. You just reach in with your finger and cock the bolt and you are ready to fire. This weapon includes 7 original 20 round, Reising marked Model 50 stick magazines.

Fine with 70% of the original gray parkerized finish overall. With the exposed top section of the barrel and receiver starting to fade and turn a silvery patina. The stock is in excellent condition with a nice original dark tone overall, sharp finger grooves on the sides, and only minor scratches on the rear side of the buttstock area. The magazines are all in excellent condition. NOTE: This item is restricted as a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) that is classified as a "Curios or Relic" as defined in 27 CFR, 478.11. These weapons are still subject to the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 478.
