Description:

Manufactured in the early 20th Century by one of the most desirable Western spur makers, Kelly Bros. The company was started by P.M. Kelly, who made his first pair of spurs in 1903. The left spur is marked "KELLY/BROS" near the lateral button. The heel bands are double nickel mounted with lightly engraved goose wings on the lateral arms and diamond/spade patterns on the medial arms. Copper and nickel mounted gooseneck shanks ending in toothed rowels. With floral pattern tooled leather straps. Heel band width: 9/16" Shanks: 2 3/8" Rowel diameter: 1 1/2" Heel opening: 3 1/8".

Rating Definition:

Fine, showing mostly a brown patina, age darkened copper, and bright nickel mountings with some scattered minor pitting, some areas of bright wear, and some light oxidation. The leather straps are very good with moderate wear and a torn buttonhole.
