Description:

This is an excellent example of a commercial production Model 1928 Thompson submachine gun that was manufactured by the Auto-Ordnance Corporation of West Hurley, New York, circa late 1970s/early 80s. These early new production weapons did use some original GI parts combined with newly manufactured components. They all retained their earlier configuration parts such as the finned barrel, Thompson-Cutts style compensator, vertical fore grip, detachable buttstock, and adjustable ladder rear sight. These are easily identified by the "A" serial number suffix. The left side of the receiver is marked "U.S. MODEL 1928/No.1025A" followed by "THOMPSON SUBMACHINE GUN/CALIBER .45M1". The right side is marked "AUTO-ORDNANCE CORPORATION/WEST HURLEY, NEW YORK, U.S.A." This desirable weapon has an all walnut stock, vertical fore grip and pistol grip, and the all blued finish. This lot includes one thirty round stick magazine, its original matching numbered cardboard shipping box and original 1980 invoice from Auto-Ordnance listing the sales price as $425.00. This excellent SMG is consecutively numbered to the next lot.

Rating Definition:

Excellent with 95% of the original factory blue finish overall showing only light edge and high spot wear with some spots of very light rust on the left side of the receiver and barrel. The wood components are all in excellent condition and show some minor handling marks on the sides of the buttstock and front fore grip. A very nice looking consecutively numbered Thompson/Auto Ordnance submachine gun! NOTE: This weapon is a National Firearms Act (NFA), fully transferable Class 3, which is registered with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, (BATFE) under the provisions of 18 U.S.C. Chapter 44 and 27 CFR part 478.
