Manufactured in 1882 and subsequently engraved with dense-coverage western style scroll and floral engraving, plated in silver, and fitted with a pair of pearl grips. The right grip has a steer head with gold encased horns and pink (possibly precious) stone eyes. The barrel has the two-line address on top and "44" on the bottom. The "black powder" frame has the three-line patent marking on the left, and the trigger guard has "44 CF" on the left side of the bow. Matching serial numbers are on the frame, trigger guard, and back strap, and the loading gate has the assembly number "1245."

Fine with 95% plus of the period replated silver, mostly distinct engraving, somewhat faded markings, mild wear at the muzzle, and mild cylinder drag lines. The grips are very good and have a few chips, attractive natural iridescent colors, distinct carving, and moderate handling wear. Mechanically excellent.
