Fixed sights, with "P.38" and "ac 45" on the left side of the slide, matching numbers on the slide, frame, barrel lug and locking block, along with proper "eagle/359" and "eagle/swastika" proof marks. Fitted with a set of ribbed brown plastic grips. Two "P.38v/U" magazines are included as is a brown leather flap holster stamped "ndk", "44", and "WaA77" on the rear, and hand-marked "Fish" and "JOHN/B./FISH". Attached notes attribute the set as having been field-captured during the Battle of the Bulge by a U.S. paratrooper; the very low suffix-free serial number suggests early enough production that it could have reached the Ardennes region prior to that battle ending. Fish has not been positively identified.

Excellent, with 95% plus of the original blue finish, showing some minor edge and grip strap wear. The grips are equally excellent, and the exceptionally fine holster shows some stains, scuffs and scratches. Mechanically excellent.
