Description:

Dark blue felt construction, with separate machine-stitched gold-on-blue Nazi Eagle and black/white/red cockade patches on the front, and a blue rayon lining marked "59" and "CLEMENS WAGNER/SEP.43". A nickel-finished steel badge is attached to the left side of the cap, depicting a man in a top hat carrying a ladder and a broom. A similar emblem (described as a chimney sweep) is associated with U-575, a Type VIIC U-Boat. Launched in 1941 and lost in 1944, 575 claimed 9 kills, including the HMS Asphodel, a Flower-class corvette of the Royal Navy. It would meet its end North of the Azores, run down by a mix of American and Canadian warships and bombarded with depth charges, deck guns and air-launched rockets; 37 men survived the loss.

Rating Definition:

Very good, with some mild wear on the exterior and light staining concentrated on the interior.
