Description:

Both caps are of dark felt external construction with cloth inner lining, with the two piece eagle and cockade patches on the front and one or more badges on the left. 1) "Pekuero" brand cap, black exterior and interior with "57" in white paint on the lining. An alloy badge featuring a pig and a submarine is on the left. A badge in this style was used by the Type VIIC submarine U-296, launched in September of 1943 and lost in March of 1945 while attempting to enter the Northern Channel of the Irish Sea. 2) "Robert Lubstein/Berlin NO 55/1940 59" cap, midnight blue exterior and gray interior, with a gold colored Nazi eagle and a 7 on a horseshoe on a 4-leaf clover on the left side. Classic symbols of good luck, variants of these three items were used as decoration by multiple u-boats.

Rating Definition:

1) Good, with some mild wear overall and some transferal of the paint on the interior. 2) Very good, with a few light stains.
