Constructed from light gray herringbone twill, with a pair of brown enamel finished buttons on the functional ear flaps, machine-stitched Totenkopf patch on the crown, and the SS eagle on the left ear flap. The interior is also herringbone twill, with no visible makers marks and no sweatband. Attributed by the consignor to the Italian Theater.

Good. The cap has sun faded and sweat stained to a mixed tan color, with areas of original color in the regions protected by the flaps. Heavy sweat staining is visible on the interior, especially in the forehead region.
