Manufactured at the tail end of the 912,000-955,000 production range noted on page 108 by Rankin in "Walther Models PP and PPK: 1929-1945", with the "DRP" marking engraved on the left side of the frame, believed to be the marking for the Deutsche Reichspost. Established in 1871, the Deutsche Reichspost was the mail service provider for German through WWII up until it was disestablished by the Allies in 1945. Known examples of DRP marked pistols are scarce. Fixed sights, with the Walther banner, 2 line address, model markings, and "Mod. PPK" on the left side of the slide, "crown/N" commercial proofs on the right side of the slide, chamber hood and muzzle, and the proper hand-scribed matching partial serial number on the interior. Fitted with a ring hammer, 90 degree safety, lanyard staple, checkered brown grip and a matching extension. Includes a brown leather Albrecht Kind holster.

Excellent, with 90% plus of the original blue finish, showing a few areas of brown and gray patina, bright edge wear and mild handling marks. The grips are flexing slightly at the corners, but otherwise very fine. The holster is very fine and shows some light scuffs and verdigris buildup. Mechanically excellent.
