These Luger pistols were manufactured in Germany during the mid-1930s by Mauser after recently taking over production of Luger pistols from DWM. They were all manufactured expressly for sale in the U.S. through the A.F. Stoeger Arms Company. Manufactured in several different barrel lengths in either 7.65mm or 9mm. It was estimated that up to 1,000 total were manufactured. This example is marked with the "American Eagle" stamp on the chamber and "DWM" on the toggle. The right side of the barrel extension is marked "Germany" and farther forward is "A.F. STOEGER INC/NEW YORK." It has "crown/N" proofs on the left side of the barrel extension, underside of the barrel and breech bolt. The numbered parts on the gun are matching. It correctly does not have the right side rail markings. The extractor is marked "LOADED", and the safety lever marking is "SAFE". It is fitted with a set of unnumbered walnut grips and a wood base magazine with a polished body. The base is marked only "GERMANY". Comes with an unmarked brown leather holster, dismantling tool, and extra "GERMANY" marked wood base magazine with polished body. These early Mauser Lugers were extremely well made with a beautiful blue finish and straw colored small parts.

Extremely fine with 85% of the original blue finish still remaining overall with edge and high spot wear and thinning and browning spotting/patina on the grip straps. The front sight base has been filed on both sides and touched up with cold blue. The smaller parts retain 70% of their straw colors overall having faded. The grips are excellent with nice distinct checkering and just a couple minor handling marks. It has matching numbers except the magazine and grips as noted. The holster is very good with minor handling marks/wear and broken closure strap.
