Description:

Manufactured in the early 20th Century by one of the most desirable Western spur makers, Kelly Bros. The company was started by P.M. Kelly, who made his first pair of spurs in 1903. This utilitarian pair are marked "KELLY/BROS" near the lateral buttons and the initials "J.E.C." on the outside of both arms of the upturned heel bands. Single mounted with lightly engraved nickel on the lateral buttons and lateral side of the straight shanks which end in five-point star rowels. Heel band width: 1/2" Shanks: 2 3/8" Rowel diameter: 1 3/8" Heel opening: 3 3/8".

Rating Definition:

Very good, showing mostly a smooth brown patina and mostly bright nickel mountings with some scattered light oxidation and mild wear.
