Description:

Manufactured in the early 20th Century by one of the most desirable Western spur makers, Kelly Bros. The company was started by P.M. Kelly, who made his first pair of spurs in 1903. The pair are marked "KELLY/BROS." near each of the lateral buttons, which are of Kelly's patented swinging design. The nickeled heel bands are single mounted with lightly engraved silver arrows and have gal-leg shanks ending in toothed rowels. With leather straps. Provenance: Joe Flores. Heel band width: 5/8" Shanks: 1 1/2" Rowel diameter: 1" Heel opening: 3 1/8".

Rating Definition:

Fine, showing approximately half of the original nickel finish and mostly bright silver mountings with the balance a smooth brown patina, some scattered minor flaking, and some scattered light oxidation. The straps are very fine with minimal wear.
