Dated "18.8" (August 1943). Fixed sights, knurled and ribbed cocking knob, full blue finish and smooth grips. With 13 rounds of ammunition, a rubberized canvas holster, and a sword. The sword is 36 1/2 inches overall, with a 26 inch blade, active grain, strong hamon, four-lobed iron tsuba, iron furniture with gilt accents, blue cord wrap over ho-oh menuki, and a shin gunto pattern scabbard. Both sides of the tang are signed, 6 symbols on the right and 8 on the left. A cloth hilt cover is included.

Fine as assembled, with 75% of the blue finish, showing areas of brown and gray patina, scattered spotting and mild handling marks. The grips shows some dents and scuffs. The holster is fine, with some components absent from the closure flap and mild wear overall. Mechanically fair. The blade fittings shows wear and tear, the hilt cover is torn and stained, and the blade is very fine, with a few spots and edge nicks.
