Introduced in 1949. The F, or Premier, grade was the highest offered by Remington, and each one was hand made by the master smiths in the Remington Custom Shop. White front and nickel mid bead sights on the vent rib, with the two line patent and address markings on the right side of the barrel, and the 3 inch chamber markings on the reverse. A 6" wedge of scroll engraving with punch-dot background is present on each side of the breech, incorporating banners which surround the markings. The model and serial number markings are hand engraved on the underside of the receiver, which shows over 98% coverage of fine scrollwork, with vine backgrounds, a dogs head on the trigger guard, starburst patterns on the trigger guard retention pins, and a leaf design on the rear of the operating handle. Each side features a two-panel game scene of a pointer spotting a pair of game birds, with the dogs and birds rendered in engraved gold. The engraving is signed "E", likely for Remington Master Engraver, Carl Ennis. Fitted with an extra-fancy checkered buttstock, "W.F.W." marked inscription panel and a serrated buttplate.

Very fine, with 95% plus original blue finish showing some light handling marks. The engraving detail is sharp, and the inlays are in good shape. The revarnished stock is very fine with a few light handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
