Included with this pistol is documentation, in the form of a Department of Public Safety inventory card and a signed note from the Ranger himself, verifying this SIG P226 pistol as the duty weapon of Texas Ranger Sergeant Calvin Cox. The note is terse, but clearly states that he carried this item as a duty weapon. Cox joined the DPS in 1977, working with the Texas Highway Patrol before becoming a Ranger in 1988, serving in Abeline as part of Company E. The Texas Ranger Register lists "hypnosis" and "tracking" as among his specializations, and notes his retirement in 2007. Fixed three-dot sights, with the DPS inventory number "405-361183" on the slide and a pair of textured wraparound grips. With a mixed numbered case, two extra magazines and a trigger lock.

Very fine, with 85% of the matte black finish, showing bright edge wear, mild handling marks, and some tool marks on the grip screws. Mechanically excellent.
