Description:

This rifle was manufactured in 1893. The factory letter from Sept. 5, 1975, lists the rifle with a 30 inch, #3 weight octagon barrel in .32-40 and a plain trigger when shipped on March 22, 1893. It has a Rocky Mountain blade front sight, the two-line address, an adjustable U-notch sporting rear sight, "32-40" on top at the breech, casehardened thin side high wall receiver with the patent marking and script serial number on the lower tang, standard stock and forearm (latter marked "3" in the mortise), and a casehardened crescent buttplate.

Rating Definition:

Excellent overall with 95% plus original blue and 90% vivid casehardened finish, light edge wear, smooth oiled finish on the excellent wood, minor marks and scratches, and generally only light wear from age and storage. Mechanically excellent.
