Arms Co. primer tin with a roll of primers, two brass casings, and more. The .35 caliber rifled barrel is 20 inches long and has a "pinched" blade front sight and notch rear sight. The .50 caliber rifled barrel is also 20 inches long and has a rounded German silver blade front sight and notch and folding leaf rear sight. The 28 gauge smoothbore barrel is 26 inches long and has a rounded German silver blade front sight and no rear sight. The barrels have each been numbered "12491" on the bottom at the breech. The "1" on the 28 gauge barrel is over-stamped on a "2" and has a "2" above it, and "1798" is above the number on the .35 caliber barrel. The primer door on the frame is marked "2645," and the sides of the frame have the Massachusetts Arms Co. and Maynard Arms. Co. markings. The patch box has the Maynard patent dates on the door and on a paper label inside. A folding combination peep and notch rear sight is fitted to the integral base on the upper tang.

Rating Definition:

Very good plus with 30% original blue finish on the rifled barrels, strong original case colors on the water table, traces of original blue and casehardened finish elsewhere, some streaking on the left side of the frame, and mostly brown and dark gray patina on the balance along with some minor speckled oxidation. The saddle ring is absent. The fine stock has mild scrapes and dings. The markings are mostly crisp. Mechanically fine. The case is good and has some chipping, water spots, and moderate wear. The accessories are mostly fine and have generally mild age and storage related wear. Overall, this is a very nice three barrel Maynard set.
