Description:

Only around 7,000 of these revolvers were manufactured in 1861-1862 before production shifted to the very similar New Model Navy. The barrel has a cone front sight and the two-line 1861 patent and factory address marking on top. Matching serial number on barrel, grip frame, grip panels, and trigger guard (partial). "CGC" cartouche on the left grip. Collector's marking "JF/437" on the trigger guard.

Rating Definition:

Fine, showing 30% original finish with the remainder a mixture of grey/brown patina. The grips are very fine with some dings and a crisp cartouche. Mechanically excellent.
