Description:

Manufactured from 1863-1865, approximately 32,000 Model 1863 revolvers were manufactured by Starr. Of these, 25,000 were purchased by the U.S. Government. They were the third most widely used revolvers in the Union Army. This example has the standard manufacturer's markings, small inspection marks, faint cartouches on the grip (illegible), and matching numbers on the cylinder, frame, and hammer well.

Rating Definition:

Very good, showing 30% original blue finish, strongest under the barrel and on the frame. The remainder is a brown patina with scattered small areas of oxidation. The grips are also very good with bruising, some dings and scratches. Mechanically fine.
