This pattern, also known as the 1738 Horse Pistol, was used in both the French & Indian War and American Revolution as well as other conflicts over seas involving the British Empire. The barrel is properly not sighted and has government markings as well as "17/*/4" on the breech. The slightly "banana" shaped lock is marked with the Georgian cipher at the center and "TOWER/1742" on the tail. The furniture is all brass. A removable collection marking is on the trigger guard bow.

Rating Definition:

Very fine with mottled gray and brown patina along with light pitting on the barrel, mostly lighter gray patina on the lock, aged patina on the furniture, and generally only minor wear. The stock is good and has some general scrapes and dings throughout and some chips and small slivers absent from the edges. Mechanically fine.
