Description:

Manufactured in 1877. Dovetail blade and elevation adjustable sights on a barrel stamped with the two-line Winchester address/King's patent dates marking. The upper tang is drilled and tapped for sight mounting, and the lower tang is stamped with the serial number in script. The buttplate and receiver are brass. The bolt remains in its original .44 rimfire configuration. Mounted on a smooth forearm and pistol grip stock with a trapdoor buttplate (cleaning rod not included). The '66 secured Winchester's place in the annals of the West and launched a long line of successful Winchester lever actions that remain popular to this day and still retain the basic form of the '66.

Rating Definition:

Very good. Traces of original blue remain in the protected areas, otherwise a smooth brown patina with a couple areas of touch up on the barrel and dented magazine tube. The brass has an attractive dark aged appearance with some abrasive marks visible on forward lower frame. The freshened wood is fine with some minor handling marks. Mechanically excellent.
