Manufactured in 1910 with several special order features including the carved pistol grip stock. Standard Winchester markings including the factory oval proofs along with small letters "O," "J" and "H" non-factory stamped on the underside of the takedown collar. The barrel is fitted with a dovetail blade front sight (replacement) and elevation adjustable rear sight. The receiver is fitted with double set triggers. The upper tang is drilled and tapped for sight mounting. The scarce special order pistol grip walnut stock features style D factory checkering with oak leaf and acorn carving. The pistol grip has a Winchester hard rubber cap. The left side of the lower tang is marked "8153 X". The assembly number "8153" is repeated on the buttstock under the buttplate and on the back of the buttplate.

Very good. The refinished barrel and magazine tube retain most of the dull blue finish and the receiver retains 30% original blue finish with the takedown ring collar an artificial smooth brown-gray patina. Traces of original case colors remain on the lever. The wood is very good with a hairline crack on the forearm, some minor-moderate dings and scratches, and moderately worn carving overall. Mechanically excellent.
