Manufactured in 1894 as a second model deluxe variation of the Winchester Model 1890 slide action rifle with concealed locking lugs and casehardened takedown frame. The barrel is fitted with a dovetail Lyman blade front sight and elevation adjustable buckhorn rear sight and is marked with the two-line address ahead of the rear sight and "22 LONG" at the breech. The upper tang is marked with the three-line model/patent date marking. The lower tang has the serial number. The 2X select walnut straight grip stock and round forearm feature multi-point checkering. The buttstock is fitted with a crescent buttplate. The left side of the lower tang is marked "141XX." The assembly number "141" is repeated on the butt of the stock and on the back of the buttplate.

Extremely fine. The barrel and magazine retain 70% period, possible factory refinished blue finish with the balance a smooth brown patina. The bolt retains 97% plus original blue finish. The remaining metal surfaces retain 90% plus original case colors. The wood is fine with minor dings and scratches and crisp checkering overall. Mechanically excellent. An attractive deluxe Model 1890 rifle with casehardened frame will make for a great addition to any Winchester collection.
