Description:

Several thousand Sharps pepperbox pistols were manufactured in a variety of variations in 1859 to 1874. This example has the standard C. Sharps & Co. marking on the right, the patent marking on the left, matching serial numbers, extensive factory floral scroll engraving on the frame with American patriotic shield on the left and a fox head on the right of the breech, and it is fitted with fancy floral pattern gutta percha grips.

Rating Definition:

Very fine, retains 75% original silver finish on the frame and 60% of original silver on the barrel in sheltered areas with the balance a smooth grey patina or antique brass. The grips are fine with some minor scratches and light edge wear. Mechanically excellent.
