Less than 1,400 of these small pistols, also known as "Parrot Beaks," were manufactured in 1911-1915. Blue finish is rarer than nickel plating, and original boxes are very scarce. It has scroll and zig-zag pattern engraving, a round blade front sight, "HOPKINS & ALLEN ARMS CO./NORWICH, CONN. U.S.A." on the left side of the barrel, pearl grips with golden H&A monogram medallions, and the serial number on the butt. The red box has a "HOPKINS & ALLEN/DERRINGER/22 Cal. [hand-marked "B"] Pearl and Engraved" end label.

Very good plus with strong traces of original blue and otherwise mottled gray patina. The engraving and markings are distinct. The grips are very fine and have attractive natural colors, a couple tiny chips on the left, and minor handling wear. Mechanically fine. The box is fine and has mild age and storage related wear including some tears and separation at some corners.
