Manufactured around the late 19th or early 20th century. There is a crowned rampant lion and a scroll/shield marking on the left side near the breech along with the serial number; otherwise, it is marked "A.D. Lebeda in Prague" on bottom of barrel. The barrel has bead and notch sights, gilded ribs and leaf engraving, and gold inlaid patterns and bands. The other metal components are casehardened/French grayed and engraved with floral scrollwork and have gold inlayed and engraved hunting scenes, animals, and floral blooms. The stock has primarily relief scroll and floral carving. It comes in a close fitted ebonized hardwood case with carved container and screwdriver that match the stock and two empty compartments.

Exceptionally fine overall with 95% original gold, 85% plus original bright blue finish, gray and brown patina on the balance, some minor oxidation, attractive natural tones on the stock which has some age cracking, mostly crisp designs, and general mild wear. Mechanically excellent. The case is fine with some chipping, scratches, somewhat loose fitting interior lids, and some loose trim. The accessories are fine and have similar tones and age hairline cracks as the stock. Writer does not recall a more elaborate example of this type! Provenance: Dr. Gerald Klaz collection.
