Description:

In use during the Late Medieval and Renaissance periods, the close helm provided full head protection, with an integral raised comb providing extra impact protection to the top and back of the skull, and a set of two visors and a bevor mounted on a single set of hinges to protect the face and the front of the throat. The exterior metal is polished bright, with a set of vent holes in the lower visor, riveted bevor, and a set of screws with square nuts forming the hinge pins. No markings are visible, and no latches, belts or other closure hardware is installed.

Rating Definition:

Fine, with a mixed brown and gray patina overall, a few areas of cracking, and scattered dings and dents. The front bevor has worked a bit loose, but is still attached.
