It has a short two-stage barrel marked with London proof and view marks flanking "*/IB" on the left near the breech, "BARBAR" marked lock with non-bridled pan, brass furniture including a Brown Bess style thumb escutcheon, and smooth stock.

Fine with dark mix of gray and brown patina, some applied finish, and moderate pitting on the lock and barrel; replaced frizzen, and a natural aged patina on the brass. The stock is fair with cracking and slivers absent along the forend as well as some filler, chips around the lock mortise, tension cracks in the left flat, and general scrapes and dings. Mechanically fine.
