Manufactured in 1856. It is a Model 2 with a 3 1/2 inch octagon barrel, marked with the two line, two block legend with Maltese crosses featuring the pointing hand at the front, round loading lever with octagon base and ball latch, cylinder with the Cabin and Indian scene and cylinder pin latch inserted from the left with retaining screw on the right side of the frame. The cylinder also has "COLTS PATENT" above the matching serial number "11301". All blue finish with casehardened hammer, loading lever and fire blue trigger and fitted with a one piece walnut grip. The matching serial number is stamped on the butt, barrel and cylinder. With a belt containing a leather revolver holster and a metal sheath holding a bowie knife. The knife has a 5 inch spear blade with etched military motif and an antique ivory handle. Consignor notes state that holster rig is Confederate.

Very fine. The revolver retains 60% plus original blue finish with the balance a smooth gray patina. Traces of original case colors remain on the hammer and loading lever. Most of the cylinder scene remains. The grip is very fine with a very small chip missing near the bottom and some scattered minor handling marks. Mechanically fine. The belt rig is fair with a missing belt strap and age cracking on the leather. The knife is very good with a few hairline cracks on the handle and most of the etching remaining on the bright blade.
