Description:

The Colt Model 1860 Army was the main handgun of the Union Army during the Civil War. Over 125,000 were delivered before the disastrous fire at the Colt factory in February 1864. This revolver was manufactured in 1862 with a frame and back strap cut for use with a shoulder stock, standard markings, German silver blade front sight, cartouches on the sides of the grip, and all matching serial numbers, including in the wedge and rear mortise of the correct grip.

Rating Definition:

Fine with 60% of the original blue finish remaining, 30% original case colors on the loading lever, traces of case colors remaining elsewhere, mellow aged patina on the trigger guard, mostly smooth brown on the balance, some minor oxidation/pitting, distinct markings, and mild overall wear. The grip is very fine and has crisp cartouches, minor dents on the butt, light edge wear, and some minor scratches. Mechanically excellent.
