Description:

Manufactured in 1863 with a brass cone front sight, "-ADDRESS COL. SAML COLT NEW-YORK U.S. AMERICA" barrel address, standard cylinder scene and patent markings, and all matching serial numbers, including in the rear mortise of the high polish varnished grip. The Model 1849 Pocket was Colt's most popular percussion revolver, but '49s in high condition are rather rare.

Rating Definition:

Fine with 75% original blue finish on the barrel, 30% original blue finish on the cylinder, mostly smooth brown patina where the finish has flaked, some minor oxidation, 60% plus original case colors, 60% original silver plating, aged patina on the silver and exposed brass, unclear hand-scratched markings on the butt, and mild overall wear. The grip is very fine and has much of the original varnish, minor dings and scratches, and light edge wear. Mechanically excellent.
