Description:

20,400 Model 1819 pattern pistols were manufactured by Simeon North in Middletown, Connecticut, in 1819-1823. This is the first U.S. model to use the swivel mounted ramrod, and they were used into the early 1850s. This 1821 dated example has the standard features and markings including a "LS", inspector Luther Sage, cartouche on the left stock flat, a "V" on the right flat, and "JDJ/P/US" stamped at the breech. Removable collection mark on the trigger guard.

Rating Definition:

Good showing mostly bright finish with evidence of cleaning and some light pitting concentrated more near the touch hole. The lightly sanded and refinished wood has some scattered minor dings and chipping and faint cartouches. Mechanically fine.
