A) 1837 Dated U.S. A.H. Waters Model 1836 Flintlock Pistol

Description:

The Model 1836 is often considered the finest flintlock U.S. martial pattern and was widely used during the Mexican War and Civil War. The Model 1836 was the final flintlock handgun issued by the U.S. military. It has the standard features and "eagle head/A. WATERS/MILBURY. MS./1837" on the lock. A removable collection mark is on the trigger guard.

Rating Definition:

Very good as reconverted to flintlock configuration, showing mostly bright with some grey patina on the lock and some scattered light pitting. The lightly sanded and reoiled wood is good with minimal minor handling marks, a few repaired hairline cracks, and faint cartouches. Mechanically excellent.

A removable collection marking is on the trigger guard bow.

Rating Definition:

Good as reconverted to flintlock configuration with mostly bright polished surfaces, mild overall pitting, traces of where the percussion nipple was fitted, two piece pan, faint cartouches, general scrapes and dings, and a couple minor flakes absent from the stock. Mechanically fine.
