Produced for use with the U.S. Model 1841 "Mississippi" Rifle, both flasks are fitted with a brass spout with adjustable neck, a pair of suspension rings and a raised double-sided design of an American screaming eagle, a pair of shaking hands in a radiant burst surrounded by stars, and a "US" shield backed by an array of arms. 1) Batty flask dated "1848" with an "B" inspection mark. 2) Batty flask dated "1854" with "A.D.T." and "R.H.K.W." inspection marks.

1) Fine, attractive smooth dark patina with a few small dents. Tight seams, charger needs work. 2) Fine, attractive smooth dark patina with a few dents and dings. Seam along one side is slightly separating, charger functions properly.
