This is an exceptional example of a U.S. Model 1898 Springfield Rifle. The unique, seldom encountered Italian walnut stock has a "JSA/1901" cartouche on the left and a "J" and circled script "P" on the bottom. These distinctive lighter colored stocks were used in limited quantities on these rifles. Includes a brass muzzle cover and tools in the stock compartment.

Excellent with 95% plus original blue and casehardened finish with minor storage marks. The very attractive stock is excellent overall. Mechanically excellent.
