Manufactured in 1894. Blade front and 1892 pattern folding ladder rear sights, with the "1894." marking on the receiver. The stock displays a faint "JSA/1894" cartouche with a 2nd type double strap upper band, ramrod in the forearm, short upper handguard, faint script "P" on the wrist, and flat steel buttplate without trap. Includes a "1895" dated bayonet, blue steel sheath, and Rock Island Arsenal leather sling. There is a small removable collection marking on the trigger guard.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. 75% original blue finish remains on the barrel with some scattered spotting and some edge and muzzle wear. The receiver has 50% plus original case colors with the balance a mottled gray patina with some surface spotting and light pitting and a mottled brown patina on the bolt components. The barrel bands have been refinished. Stock is also fine as lightly sanded and re-oiled with shallow finger grooves, faint markings, hairline crack in the handguard, and small scattered dings. Mechanically excellent.
