Description:

Manufactured in 1896. Blade front and correct folding ladder rear sights. Smooth straight wrist stock, with a "JSA/1897" cartouche, correct brown leather sling ("Healy" written in ink, uncommon name, research needed) and a flat steel buttplate. A three-piece cleaning rod is stored inside the stock.

Rating Definition:

Fine, with 50% plus of the original blue finish, showing areas of brown and gray patina, and some light hedge wear and handling marks. The stock is also fine, with crisp finger grooves, some chipping around the buttplate, scuffing of the buttstock, and scattered dents and scratches. Mechanically excellent. The sling is fine.
