Description:

Standard Winchester three line markings on the left side of the receiver. "W.W.K/R/US/anchor" is on the top of the barrel at the rear with "V/P/eagle head/H.N." below it on the left side. The "H.N." inspector mark is also on the receiver, bolt head and bolt handle. Inspectors cartouche "SWP/1881" is present on the left side of the stock. The actions and buttplates were furnished by Winchester to Springfield Arsenal which made the balance of the parts and assembled the rifles. Approximately 2,500 of these rifles were ordered by the U.S. Navy.

Rating Definition:

Fine as professionally restored with 98% blue finish remaining mixed. The re-oiled stock is very good with some minor nicks and scratches and a couple of minor scuff marks. Mechanically fine. All markings including the stock cartouche are clear.
