Description:

This "1872" dated rifle is one of only 10,000 Rolling Block Rifles manufactured between 1871 and 1872 by Springfield Armory under a royalty agreement with Remington Arms Company for the U.S. Army. It has the standard markings and features, faint "ESA" cartouche on the wrist, and a removable collection mark on the trigger guard tang.

Rating Definition:

Very fine as professionally refinished, showing polished bright on the barrel, mountings, breech block, and hammer, and 99% of the case colors on the action with very minimal wear. The wood has a few scattered light dings and faint cartouche. Mechanically excellent.
