Description:

Manufactured for the U.S. military from 1876-77 with a total production approximately 5,934. Offered here is a very early production example, serial number 75. "L" and "P" are stamped on the barrel and rear cylinder face, "US" is marked on the butt, and the left grip panel has a faint cartouche. The cylinder and right grip panel are numbered to the gun.

Rating Definition:

Very good plus, retaining 30% plus bright original high polish blue finish with the balance a smooth brown patina. The grips are very good with lightly visible cartouche, moderate high edge wear and some minor scratches. Mechanically needs work as the half cock notch is broken off, trigger does not lock in place and cylinder rotates freely.
