Casehardened side lock featuring fine scrollwork and bouquet engraving, underlever, trigger guard, grip cap and forearm hardware engraved to match, and bolted safety with "SAFE" and "BOLTED" in gold. Highly figured walnut pistol grip stock with fine checkering, tear drop flats, blank initial oval, push button forearm release, checkpiece and checkered bare butt. Comes with a leather bound oak takedown case lined featuring a paper James Purdey & Sons label on the interior of the lid and brass hardware and containing an oiler, pair of snap caps, twp extra firing pins and leather sling. Length of pull is 13 3/4 inches, weight 9lbs. 1 oz.

Very fine. The barrels retain 95% plus of the high quality reapplied blue finish with limited pitting. The remaining metal surfaces retain 30% of the case colors. The refinished wood is fine with smoothed out splinter on forearm, minimal handling marks and crisp checkering overall. Mechanically excellent. The case is fine with minor handling/storage marks and typical high spot wear on the lining.
