Manufactured in 1916. Elevation adjustable front and windage adjustable rear sights, with the two-line address and patent markings on top of the barrel and "+OFFICERS MODEL 38+" on the left side, "VP" and "3" on the trigger guard, knurled royal blue trigger and hammer, checkered back strap and a fine set of hardwood grips with silver finished Rampant Colt medallions.

Fine with 75% plus original blue finish, showing some bright edge wear, scattered light scratches, and a small amount of spotting concentrated on the barrel. The grips are very good, with some dents, wear and verdigris; the internal numbers are partially obscured by staining, but the visible digits are a match for the revolver. Mechanically excellent. A very pleasing long barreled target sight diamond grips early Officer's model.
