Description:

(Antoine Louis Barye, from 1795-1875.) These bronze metal colored sculptures show high relief detail on sitting lions and sitting on the globes show that England ruled the Earth and in the 18th century this was a fact as the old saying goes "the sun never sets on the British Empire". The lions have roaring open mouths, wonderful manes on each, and all four paw rest on the top of the world bases. Just a great set of animalier bronzes. Dimensions of each: 24"x24"x65", weight 97 lbs. Signed on the bases "Bayre".

Rating Definition:

Very good overall, showing light storage/display marks.
