Single steel bead sight on the matte, concave rib with the right barrel marked "ABERCROMBIE & FITCH HOUSTON-TEXAS", Francotte address on the left barrel, 2 3/4 inch chambers with automatic ejectors, standard Belgian proofs on the flats, secondary Birmingham proofs dated 1996, and cylinder/cylinder chokes. The action and locks have an attractive coin gray finish with bold, deeply cut foliate and scroll engraving surrounding detailed bird scenes on the locks of gold inlaid ducks set against finely detailed marsh backgrounds, with pintails on the right and redheads on the left. The underside of the action is engraved with an impressive American bald eagle above the Francotte maker's mark, and the trigger guard features a gold inlaid quail on a fence post with matching scroll borders. The artist's signature "PH. GRIFNEE" is next to the triggers. Attractive, checkered splinter forearm with engraved fittings, Anson push button latch, and nicely figured straight grip stock with checkered bare butt. Length of pull is 14 1/2 inches, weight 5 lbs. 3 oz. With leather bound Francotte takedown case with cloth cover, two-piece cleaning rod, cleaning rod heads, snap caps, and oil bottle. Comes with a 1996 dated certificate of proof issued by the Birmingham Gun Barrel Proof House.

Excellent. 97% plus original blue finish remains with some light muzzle wear and small marks under the forearm. The engraving is crisp and detailed with complete gold inlays. A small piece of fabric has been affixed to the heel of the butt; otherwise' the wood is excellent with attractive grain and figure, crisp checkering, and a few small dings. Mechanically excellent. Case is very good with storage marks overall and some light wear on the case cover.
