This is a very rare Luftwaffe contract Luger pistol that is in exceptional condition that we have to offer in this sale. This example is dated 1942 as noted, and it comes with two original Luftwaffe contract Krieghoff magazines (one that is matching and the spare is 4 digits off) and an original black leather Luftwaffe contract Luger holster. The 1942 dated Lugers are extremely rare with an estimate of only 300 in total ever manufactured. They are noted in two general serial number ranges of 11,100-11,300 and 11,500-12,000. Obviously this example falls in the second range, and it should be noted that in this second range the pistols were NOT consecutively serial number accepted. The top of the chamber is marked 1942 with the slightly larger numbers. It has the correct C-3 die stamped toggle with "KRIEGHOFF/SUHL" the full width of the toggle with the Krieghoff toggle marking with the symmetrical dagger with smaller H&K with the left point of the anchor, slightly outside the letter "H" with the right point touching the bottom of the "K". The right side of the barrel extension has the 1st "Lwa" stage II early acceptance proof next to the stage II mid-proof next to the final acceptance proof. The underside of the barrel is marked with: "888/LWa2/11642" stamped with the smaller number size. The right side of the breechblock has the correct Luftwaffe "eagle/2" firing proof. It is fitted with the correct late production coarse checkered black plastic grips that are unmarked on the backside. As noted, it is complete with one matching magazine that has a blued magazine body marked "122/eagle/37" (on the side) and the aluminum base stamped with the Luftwaffe "eagle/2" proof over serial number "11642". The spare magazine also has the blued body marked "122/eagle 37" with the same Luftwaffe "eagle/2" proof over serial number "11646". As noted, it comes with a black, unmarked commercial leather holster that is stamped with a Luftwaffe "eagle/2" on the inside back area of the holster and an unmarked blued takedown tool.

Excellent with 98% plus of the original blue finish overall with extremely minor high spot holster wear. The grips are in excellent condition, with no visible marks anywhere. The smaller parts retain 90% of their bright original straw colors. Mechanically functions, but sear bar does not engage trigger extension. The holster is also in excellent condition with nice tight stitching showing only a couple minor impressions on the face of the holster.
