A) Remington French Contract Model 1907-15 Bolt Action Rifle with Bayonet

OD - VERY GOOD- all original parts; none to 30% original finish; original metal surfaces smooth with all edges sharp; clear lettering, numerals and design on metal; wood slightly scratched or bruised.

Description:

Manufactured by Remington circa 1914-1915 on contract for the French government. Standard sights. Marked "Remington Mle 1907-15" on the left side of the receiver and "RAC 1907-15" on the right side of the barrel. Smooth straight grip stock with grasping grooves, sling swivel on the underside of the buttstock, and a smooth metal buttplate. With epee style bayonet and sheath.

Rating Definition:

Very fine. 85% plus original blue finish remains with some mild edge wear, handling marks throughout, and some light spotting. The stock is fine as lightly sanded and re-oiled with shallow finger grooves and scattered small dings. Mechanically excellent.

Description:

Used by the Canadians as a main-line infantry rifle and acquired by the Americans as a training weapon. Hooded blade front and folding peep rear sight, with "ROSS RIFLE CO. QUEBEC CANADA. 1905./PATENTED." on the left side of the receiver. The U.S. Army ordnance bomb is stamped behind the trigger guard along with the number "18312". The right side of the butt stock is stamped with "SEC02/706". Includes canvas web sling.

Rating Definition:

Fine. 60% original blue finish remains with areas of a mixed blue/gray patina with mild edge wear, handling marks throughout, and light spotting. The stock is also fine with crisp markings and small dings throughout. Mechanically excellent.
