Lacking in maker's marks and unnumbered save a "1" on the cylinder pin and a "1" through "6" series of digits on the chambers, it is unknown who is responsible for the interesting configuration of this revolver. Resembling the American-made Starr Arms Model 1858 in operation, this Reichs revolver has been refitted from a single trigger single action operation to a dual trigger operation; a thin rear trigger is dedicated to releasing the hammer, with a sturdier front trigger to cock the arm. In operation, one can A) manually cock the hammer in the conventional style, B) cock the arm with the front trigger and then fire with the rear, or C) fire in double action mode by pulling the front trigger its full length of travel, cocking the arm and striking the rear trigger at the same time. This trigger assembly allows for high-speed close-in shooting, while still preserving the option for more deliberate shots. Blade front and notch rear sights, with a manual safety lever on the left side of the frame, an enlarged trigger guard with middle finger spur rest, and finely checkered grips with a lanyard swivel. Possibly a factory experimental model, originally from the prominent European Sturgess collection.

Very good, with 60% of the original blue finish, showing areas of brown patina, scattered spotting, a very small amount of moderate rust, edge wear and mild handling marks. The grips are also very good, with some flat spots and dings. The hand spring may possibly be out of order, but the revolver still cocks and cycles when aimed downward, and the other mechanical elements appear to be in good order, including both triggers. May need cleaning and oil. A fascinating double trigger Reichs revolver.
