This Tokyo Arsenal Japanese "Baby Nambu" pistol has a matching magazine and leather holster with shoulder strap. High ranking Japanese officers were allowed to purchase these as their standard side arm as well as signifying their superior rank status within the Japanese command structure. These pistols have a high quality rust blue finish with a bright polished "in the white" bolt with the straw colored trigger, magazine release, sear pivot pin and bolt lock. The matching magazine has a nickel-plated tube and aluminum base. The grips are finely checkered hardwood. The chamber bears the four intertwined cannon balls symbol for the Tokyo Artillery Arsenal with the three Japanese Kanji markings and the left side of the receiver that identify the model above the serial number. It has matching serial numbers on the underside of the bolt, the cocking knob, striker guide and the back of the magazine with an unnumbered firing pin. The back side of each grip panel is also matching serial numbered and each one has a small Kanji acceptance proofs. It is complete with an original Baby Nambu leather holster and shoulder strap. Approximately 6,500 examples of the finely finished compact "Baby" Nambu pistol were manufactured. The "Baby" Nambu is one of the most desirable military used Japanese semi-automatic pistols.

Very fine with 85% of the original blue finish remaining with edge and high spot wear with thinning on the barrel with several small spots of very light corrosion on the underside as well as the top right rear side of the slide, which also shows a small amount of old cold blue touch up finish on each of the spots. The grips are very fine plus with nice distinct checkering overall showing only minor handling marks in a couple places. The bolt is still in the white and the various smaller parts retain 60% of their straw colors. The leather holster and strap are both in fine condition with nice tight stitching overall with a nice medium brown color. The lower back side of the holster and hinge area both shows light age cracking but no separation. A very nice honest original WWII Baby Nambu rig.
