Class: Curio & Relic Handgun
Description:

Destined for export to the United States, in addition to the prominent "American Eagle" chamber stamp and the "DWM" monogrammed front toggle link, the right side of the extension is marked "GERMANY" and "A.F. STOEGER INC/NEW YORK.", and the right side frame rail is marked "LUGER - REGISTERED U.S. PATENT OFFICE.". It is marked "LOADED" and "SAFE" respectively on the extractor and upper safety position, in lieu of the traditional German "GELADEN" and "GESICHERT", and "GERMANY" is repeated on the frame below the serial number. The correct Stoeger barrel is unmarked except for the number "5", with a similar "5" stamp under the extension, and a slight alignment difference between the witness marks; the exact cause of the difference is that Stoeger was known to offer special order or custom barrels as a catalog option, including "Navy" length 6 inch barrels. Matching numbers are present on the takedown lever, side plate and trigger, with the remainder of the components unnumbered. Fitted with straw colored small parts, a pair of checkered grips, and a "GERMANY" marked wood base magazine, and installed in a fancy custom walnut case with a red felt lined French cut interior.

Rating Definition:

Excellent, with 98% of the original blue finish, showing some minor handling marks. 70% of the original straw color is present, strongest on the ejector, with bright niter blue on the sear spring. The grips are also excellent. The custom case is near mint. Mechanically excellent.
